Champ Youth Trampolining

Our Champ Youth club members spent their Friday evenings in January and February trampolining at the Grove wellbeing centre, Belfast. Our Champ Youth supervisor, Emma Catterson says: “Trampolining is not only a fun source of physical activity but it also provides an opportunity for the children to enhance their motor skills, engagement and concentration levels, as well as promoting social skills. It is clear to see the enjoyment our teens get each week from challenging themselves, forming friendships and gaining a sense of independence.”

The youth club also involves activities such as sport, cookery and multi-media. Sólás Managing Director, Joan Henderson says: “Our main focus is to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all children and parents. The young people really enjoy the activities with their peers, and it gives parents a few hours respite.”

Our weekly Champ Youth club is held on Wednesday and Friday evenings for young people aged 11 to 16 who have been diagnosed as being on the Autistic Spectrum. Started in January 2014, the youth club is run by our Sólás staff with the help of volunteers. The club provides an excellent opportunity for the young people to socialise, relax and enjoy trying new activities in a safe and supportive environment.

The club operates during term time. If you are interested in registering a young person to attend on Wednesday or Friday evenings please contact Emma via email- emma@solasbt7.com
