What is Champ Youth?
Started in January 2014, our weekly youth club is held on Friday evenings for young people aged 11 to 16. The youth club is run by our trained team members and volunteers. The young people are encouraged to take part in activities such as trampolining and multi-sport, cookery, media etc. It helps the youths socialise and gain confidence in a safe and supportive environment. The club operates during term time.
Why is the programme needed?
The club provides an opportunity for young people with ASD to socialise, relax and enjoy trying new activities in a safe and supportive environment. The club also provides respite to families for an evening each week.
Who does it help?
The Friday night youth club is for young people aged 11 to 16 with autism.
When do we run it?
The club is run on Tuesday (7.30 - 8.30pm) and Friday (7.30 - 9.30pm) during term-time.
Where is it located?
Teens meet at our premises at CRI Building. Transport is then provided in our Sólás minibus to the Girls Model School, Belfast where activities include trampolining. Teens then return to our building to meet their parents.
